Patient Journey with Curva Connect: K’s Story of Care and Comfort in Korea

At Curva Connect, we take pride in facilitating seamless and comfortable medical journeys for our global patients seeking top-notch healthcare services in Korea. Today, we're excited to share the journey of Patient K, who came to Korea from the US for Pelvic Plasty through our services. Join us as we walk you through each step of her experience with Curva Connect and our partner hospital.

1. Arrival in Korea

Our client K flew in from the US last Feb. 2024. Accompanied by her partner as a caregiver, they were warmly welcomed by our pre-arranged taxi driver at ICN Airport. They were safely driven to the hospital where a team of Curva Connect coordinators awaited their arrival.

2. Hospital Admission

Upon arrival at the hospital, the admission process commenced. Patient K's basic information was verified with her Photo ID, and the necessary admission papers were signed, ensuring a smooth start to her medical journey.

3. Orientation and Bracelet

Our coordinator provided Patient K and her caregiver with an overview of what to expect during their medical journey. They were also given hospital bracelets indicating their status as a patient and caregiver, ensuring easy identification within the hospital premises.

4. Settling in

Patient K and her caregiver were escorted to their private hospital room where they were greeted by a charge nurse. They received guidelines about hospital life and what to expect in the coming days before settling in for the night.

5. Pre-op Tests

The next morning, Patient K underwent a series of pre-op tests, including X-ray, CT scan, EKG, blood test, lung function test (LFT), and urinalysis, ensuring she was well-prepared for surgery.

6. Preliminary Consultation

Following the tests, Patient K had a preliminary consultation where she was briefed about the surgery, anesthesia, and pain management. Consent forms were signed, confirming her readiness for the procedure.

7. Meeting the Surgeon

Patient K and her coordinator met with the surgeon, who examined her physical state and explained the surgical plan in detail. Our bilingual coordinators were present to facilitate clear communication between Patient K, her caregiver, and the medical staff.

K's surgeon, Dr. Choi, was excellent throughout the whole process assuring K and her caregiver from the first meeting to the surgery itself and the post operative follow up visits!

8. Surgery and Recovery

The surgery was successfully performed, and Patient K was cared for by hospital's 24/7 nursing staff. The next morning, the surgeon conducted morning rounds and performed post-op X-ray and CT scans to ensure the surgery went well. Patient K rested for 1-2 days to recover comfortably.

9. Heading Home

With her recovery on track, Patient K was ready to head back home. Our team arranged a safe and comfortable vehicle to take her to the airport, bidding farewell with warm wishes.
