Client Testimonial #3: Pelvic Plasty Experience at Yonsei Baro Chuk Hospital

Hello again to all the prospective travelers who are looking into Korean medical tourism! It's great to reconnect with you all.👀

One of our clients, who provided a detailed review in the first part of our testimonials, has written another piece. By reading this post, we hope to answer your questions about what it's like to come to Korea for medical tourism, including the hospitalization process, surgeries, recovery period, and rehabilitation treatments. You'll also get a glimpse of what daily life is like during a hospital stay.

Without further ado, let's dive into the testimonial!👉

"As you know, I recently went to Korea for a relatively new procedure to

further augment my hips. I’m going to tell you all a little bit more about the

services available at the Yonsei Baro Chuk hospital. "

"William was my primary contact with the hospital. He is the foreign patient
coordinator. I first talked to William via WhatsApp, where he answered questions I
had about the surgery, helped me with scheduling and payment, recommended
hotels near the hospital, and arranged transportation to and from the airport.
After my flight, he met me at the hospital and helped me get checked in.
William was only a text away while I was recovering, and he translated between me and my fantastic surgeon, Dr. Sang Gyu Choi, for all my appointments. "

"The Yonsei Baro Chuk Hospital doesn’t work anything like what I was used to.
When I first arrived and checked in, I was shown to my private room.
The hospital menu is posted in the hallway. I was brought 3 meals a day. Medication to take was brought before each meal in a small packet, printed with the date, time and name and purpose of each medication.
There were nurses available 24/7 as needed. "

[Hospital Meal Plan : Normally comprised of a bowl of rice, soup and side dishes,

ensuring they meet health and safety standards]

"During recovery on days I had appointments, they brought me a piece of paper. The paper was my to-do list for the day. The to-do list had the location and nature of every appointment, as well as the order in which to do them. I genuinely loved this vs the typical experience I’ve had in Western hospitals. It forced me to get up, move around with a purpose rather than walking just to walk. "

"The rehabilitation was based on what I needed in my recovery. I wasn’t experiencing any pain and had an ordinary amount of post-surgical stiffness. So, cryotherapy was used twice a day to address my inflammation and bruising. This involved a physical therapist icing the surgical area and then using a machine that blows extremely cold directed air at the surgical site. It eased the soreness, and it sped up the resolution of my inflammation. "

"There was a cute little cafe in the lobby with fresh coffee, espresso, pastries
and smoothies that I enjoyed as well."
